Speaker 1: Well, with all this attention on the police, in what you've seen coming out of Speaker 1: the Midlunga Commission, the ad Hoc Committee as well in Parliament, a surprise in the Speaker 1: well, surprise for some people, I suppose, in the release of crime stats showing that Speaker 1: murders in South Africa dropped a remarkable nine point five percent from first of January Speaker 1: to the thirty first of March twenty twenty six, So there were five hundred and Speaker 1: forty six few murders and we're recorded during the same period the year before. Now Speaker 1: Gareth knew Him, who is a policing expert also an advisor to the Acting Police Speaker 1: Minister, has been explaining why this is the case.
