Speaker 1: What flavor on nine four seven. Speaker 2: Okay, we're gonna be hanging out with Sam today because Sam has what he feels Speaker 2: is a very tricky life situation that he wanted to share with you and I, Speaker 2: and he's hoping that we can give him some perspective, like, in other words, you Speaker 2: know, what would you do if you were in a similar situation. So Sam says, Speaker 2: I've been married for nine years, and I've always been the provider. When my father Speaker 2: in law was ill, I paid for his medical aid. When he passed away, I Speaker 2: paid for the entire burial. I even pay for my mother in law's medical aid. Speaker 2: And I support her brother as in the wife's brother. I did it because we Speaker 2: are in community of property. We are a team. But now everything has changed. My Speaker 2: wife just received a massive inheritance payout from her late father's estate, and suddenly she Speaker 2: wants to change our marriage contract to out of community of property. She says it's Speaker 2: to protect the kid's future, but it just feels like she's protecting the money from Speaker 2: me. Speaker 1: And here's the kicker. Her father and I were incredibly close. Speaker 2: He didn't exclude me because he wanted me to share in what he had built Speaker 2: legally, fifty percent of that payout is already mine. Speaker 1: Hmm.
