And as always we have the most interesting guests. And today we Speaker 2: have one of the most significant voices in the contemporary South African jazz movement. He's Speaker 2: a trumpeter, he's a composer, he's a researcher, educator, cultural motivator. This is an artist, Speaker 2: I must say, who listens deeply to the voices of the past while at the Speaker 2: same time imagining new possibilities for the future. And he does it through his trumpet, Speaker 2: his compositions, and of course he's a scholarship. I'm talking about Da Wo Zulu. Welcome Speaker 2: to Jazz and Beyond. I mean just Speaker 2: regarding your scholarship elements. You know, there are some musicians who separate, you know, the Speaker 2: performance and the scholarship. Where do you sit there? Speaker 1: I think that is caused by many reasons, and one of them being, of course, Speaker 1: the work environment that kind of pushes I don't want to use the term force, Speaker 1: but kind of pushes a lot of musicians to separate those worlds.
