We are Speaker 3: in the month of April still and of course we are still celebrating Jazz Appreciation Speaker 3: Month, and this coming Thursday will be the International Jazz Day. And I just thought Speaker 3: on Jazz and Beyond today we have a conversation about how we can keep South Speaker 3: African jazz alive. And hopefully this question is going to be able to be answered Speaker 3: today because we, you know, have to also just pay in mind that as much Speaker 3: as you know they are curators, the creators, their artists, their jazz club owners. They Speaker 3: are promoters, events producers, their academics, they are writers, they are streaming platforms. There's archivists, Speaker 3: and of course there's you, the jazz lover and the jazz listener, the you know, Speaker 3: and these jazz activists and a lot of people in the value chain. And if Speaker 3: we had to properly discuss, you know, keeping jazz alive, we would need to probably Speaker 3: have one hundred and fifty people in the room because so many people play a Speaker 3: very important role in making sure that South African jazz lives, breathes and grows, and Speaker 3: he's also remembered. So I have you know, decided that our theme is going to Speaker 3: be just beyond the horitage in their heritage, just look looking forward into a building Speaker 3: a sustainable jazz ecosystem.
