Speaker 1: Africa is on bags at Africa Milanie three. Radioactive contamination events happened during the maintenance Speaker 1: of the Kuberg Nuclear Power Stations Unit two, prompting an investigation by the National Nuclear Speaker 1: Regulator. Joining me on the line is the energy expert at Empower. That's Matthew Cruiz. Speaker 1: Matthew, it's a wirying report, isn't it. Speaker 2: Good morning, Good morning Africa. I canna speak with you again? Speaker 1: What happened until we know happened? Speaker 2: Yeah, So what we know happened is is worrying important. You hear that there's a Speaker 2: radioactive contamination events, it sounds very significant, but when we read into the details of Speaker 2: the information, we see that actually these events were quite minor. And to explain exactly Speaker 2: what happened is there's these these portable ventilation tents that are set up around equipment Speaker 2: that is radioactive when there's maintenance work and work that's being worked on inside the Speaker 2: condamnation building and these mov intivation tents. You can think of it like air seal Speaker 2: tent that goes around equipment that has radioactivity. And these tents are under negative air Speaker 2: pressure, so basically their sucking air in the whole time. So that no air can Speaker 2: escape from the equipment that is radioactive, and that is meant to keep any radioactive Speaker 2: particles that are airborne from escaping and going into the wider visible air that's within Speaker 2: the containment building. And the power supply to those portable ventilation tents failed and allowed Speaker 2: some of the particles to drift out of the tents and then into the surrounding Speaker 2: area. And so the surrounding area is still within the containment building. And…
