Fitness: Why contrast therapy is becoming a wellness essential

Speaker 1: More and more people are tending to ice baths and saunas, and this is often Speaker 1: referred to as contrast therapy in order to recover faster and feel a little bit Speaker 1: batter. It could be after various strains, training sessions, or just the body not being Speaker 1: okay. This morning we speak to Tim daud, found and owner of go Sauna and Speaker 1: Ice Bath, and this is about the science, the experience, and why more people are Speaker 1: making recovery part of their routine. Speaker 1: No, we are glad that you woke up and are ready to share this with Speaker 1: us. Let's start simple, Tim, what exactly is contrast therapy and how does it work? Speaker 2: So Table, what it is. It's at goes On and Ice Bath. We've got a Speaker 2: traditional hot rock sauna which sits between seventy and ninety degrees. You pour water on Speaker 2: the rocks, it gives you steam. You sit in there, and what that does is Speaker 2: that I call it vascula gymnastics. So what we do is we switch between that Speaker 2: hot and we move into the cold of the ice bath, where we keep it Speaker 2: at between forty six degrees. And what that does in these vasculo gymnastics is that Speaker 2: the heat opens up your blood vessels and the cold shrinks them, which basically creates
