Madlanga Commission hears how Hawks' bigwig moved drugs from crime scene

Speaker 1: Twenty three past three. Let's focus our attention now on the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, Speaker 1: an ongoing saga that's been covered over a number of sessions involving many witnesses. At Speaker 1: issue, five hundred and forty one kilograms of cocaine intercepted by police way back in Speaker 1: June twenty twenty one, found in a shipping container at a depot in Isipingo in Speaker 1: Durban. The cocaine was then moved. The cocaine was then stolen, all of it and Speaker 1: nobody has ever been found responsible. The Commission is doing some digging. What are they Speaker 1: finding? Tubby Saw Gorba has been listening closely, Tubby Saw, very good afternoon to who's Speaker 1: the witness today and what's coming out of their testimony? Speaker 2: Good afternoon, Good afternoon, John. The witness today is mister Gavin Jacobs. He heads out Speaker 2: the Serious Investigations crime units at the Hawks in Durban and it's a very important Speaker 2: witness, especially in this matter because he was one of the first sort of senior Speaker 2: people who came out to the drug bust and was obviously the commander of the Speaker 2: scene. Considering that during the initial stages of the drug bust, he was the most Speaker 2: senior police officer at the scene, and by that extension, he was basically the crime Speaker 2: scene commander.
